  VirtSec: Smokin’ From Shootin’Alan Murphy:

For the past 14 years, Alan has been stuck in…er…working in data centers all over the world, focusing on *nix and network administration, systems and data security, and virtualization. The last 3 years he has been knee-deep in applying these ideas and concepts to Application Delivery Networking, and been able to spend much more time at his warm desk with his dog instead of in a cold data center. Oh, and he’s relatively certain that virtualization (in)security, specifically around the hypervisor and software switching, could be the apocalyptic end to the data center as we know it.

Keith Rickards:

Over the last ten years or so Keith has been and playing with system management tools. From various OpenView packages to OpenNMS to a personal favorite Holistix from WRQ he’s seen them work and not work in many different enterprises. That experience established his belief that understanding what to measure was at least as important as being able to measure it. Understanding workloads and systems performance as well as the user experience and expectations will be the keys to on demand capacity creation in the next generation of the data center.
